Cars.com will not send you an email titled: "Buy Confidently with our Vehicle Protection Programs".  Cars.com simply provides a classified listing service and never participates in transactions between buyers and sellers; specifically, we do not sell vehicles, collect payments for vehicles, warehouse vehicles, ship vehicles, or provide a vehicle or buyer protection program. 

A common tactic used by fraudsters is to “spoof” emails that appear to come from legitimate companies like Cars.com.  This is the case with this particular email.  Please see Cars.com Terms and Conditions if you have any questions.

Hi Tracy ,

You are the approved buyer for this 1991 Nissan 300ZX Turbo. Your details have been forwarded on to the cars.com Customer Department and I think that you have been informed by them about the details of this transaction. Now, in order for me to ship the car to you and go forward with this deal, you must complete the  payment process exactly as you have been instructed by cars.com.

I personally advise you that when you will go to the Money Gram office to send the money, tell to the Money Gram agent that you send the money for a friend of yours because they will charge you more money if you tell them that you will send the money for a car purchase.   
      
As soon as I receive the confirmation from cars.com that you have made the payment, I will have the car sent to deumplut: you and you will receive it in about 3 days.  If you are no more interested in purchasing this car from me, please let me know ASAP because I have another 2 clients waiting for this item but I need your agreement to sell it to someone else.

As soon as the payment is received, it will take up to 7-10 business days to "finalize" the transaction. We will hold the payment until you send us your confirmation that you are satisfied with the product you received. As soon as we receive your confirmation we will make the payment to the seller. Until then the seller won't be able to access the money you sent and in any case you decide not to continue with the deal you will receive a full refund.
                               
As you have agreed with the seller you will have a 3 day period for inspecting the item. After the 3 days are over you will have to fax us again with either confirmation on the deal or with the reason you are not making the purchase.
