It turns out CarsCast Weekly is not recession-proof. Yes, this is the final episode of the beloved online show, and Stephen and Lindsay bid farewell with a comprehensive clip show of some of their finest moments, while also discussing what the future holds, both for them and for automotive news. We challenge you to watch it without shedding a few tears.
This week, CarsCast has more coverage of the 2009 Chicago auto show. Lindsay, Stephen and the Cars.com reviewers look at the cool features on the Cadillac Converj and the Ford Harley-Davidson F-150. Then, they debate the Kia Forte versus the Chevrolet Stingray concept (guess which one wins?) before moving on to Mike Hanley’s party bus. This week, Lindsay and Stephen report live from the 2009 Chicago auto show, which includes a peek at the Chrysler 200C concept — an electric plug-in hybrid with touch-screen controls — and a new look for the 2009 Mazda MX-5 Miata. Also, Lindsay checks out a full-size replica of Bumblebee from the next installment of the “Transformers” series. Lindsay and Stephen briefly hand the reins over to editor in chief Patrick Olsen to explain the pick. Then it’s on to Nissan’s plan to develop a system that would warn drivers about entering the road going the wrong direction, Cars.com’s search for the best vehicle for $10,000, and the questionable usefulness of Bentley’s new biofuel racer.
Well, the big news is that CarsCast Weekly has a new set, but luckily that’s not the only story in this week’s episode. Lindsay and Stephen also delve into several car models that will vanish from the earth forever. It’s not all bad news, though: Mercedes-Benz has introduced an airbag to protect your pelvis, Jason Statham is going to appear in a probably-going-to-be-cool Audi commercial during the Super Bowl, and President Barack Obama has already set his sights on increasing the fuel efficiency of cars.
There’s still a lot of wrapping up to do from the 2009 Detroit auto show which runs through Sunday. This week, Lindsay and Stephen comb through all the videos from both concept and production cars to bring you the highlights. This includes some rather exciting features, from solar-powered roofs to rearview cameras that replace mirrors. As always, Cars.com’s team of reviewers provides clear-eyed insight into what will work and what will end up on the scrap heap when the cars come to production.

Also, they report on the possibility that gas will fall to a dollar a gallon and Hawaii's plan to cover the entire state in electric-vehicle charging stations.
