2014 Lexus ES 300h Review

Lexus' midsize hybrid sedan was new for 2013 and got some minor updates for 2014, but they didn't really make the ES 300h more likable, says Cars.com reviewer Mike Hanley. Hanley says the sedan is still disappointing this year, with a firm ride, distracting controls and uncompetitive fuel economy.

Note: The optional bamboo interior is not shown in the pics. The bamboo has a lighter color.

Jay,
The pictures do make it look a little darker, but that is the optional bamboo wood trim, which our test car had.

Got it...Thanks, Mike!!!

It seems that Lexus is completely apathetic about interior quality, comfort and feature content with this generation of the ES. It's getting too confident just riding on its brand value.

Motor Trend and Edmunds described the interior as 'exceptional' and 'very high quality'. The EBT card carrying haters will always hate.

Woah there, RC. Calm down. It's not like I was personally accusing your grandmother for looking ugly.

But the very same Motor Trend also stated that the ES has "no DNA from the LFA, and not enough from the LS 460 either" in reference to the unrefined ride and obtrusive tire noise.

Consumer Reports says that, in the cabin, "cheap touches are apparent. It also says that "Lexus hurt the ride comfort" and that handling is "unexceptional."

To be honest, though, there are mixed opinions for the ES so I can't really take it one way or another.
