After making its world debut late last year in South Korea, the next-gen Hyundai Genesis bowed this week at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, where we got a look at the premium sedan as it prepares to face-off with competitors from more distinguished brands. The 2015 Genesis uses the Korean automaker's Fluidic Sculpture styling, with a grille that sits low and broad and narrows at the base. A set of BMW 7 Series-esque horizontal fog lights sit above an opening that runs the length of the bumper, and a flat crease runs parallel to the ground at the car's beltline.

Adopting cues from the pricier Equus, interior features now include an enlarged center display, real aluminum trim, larger seat bolsters and double-stitched leather upholstery. Check out the photo gallery below.

It's nice enough, but the HIDs are no longer adaptive and while getting a heated steering wheel no longer requires a V8, both it and heated rear seats require AWD. Does Hyundai not understand that there are lots of places that get quite cold without getting a lot of snow? Seems so because you can get a Santa Fe without AWD with those features. I don't understand Hyundai's weird options decisions if they truly want to be a luxury brand at the top end.

Damn, looks sexy. Probably buying a new car less than 2 years from now, and this will be on the top of my list.

Nice, but did they fix the suspension? The last model rode like a truck.

@ Derrick G
What does "but the HIDs are no longer adaptive" mean?
No leveling, no dynamic leveling, no pivoting into corners, automatic high beam for lazy people?

The last generation did not use bi-projectors, while this does. That allows for a very seamless integration of automatic high beam assistant.

Plus Hyundai offers three headlight systems: Base halogen low & high beam. Bi-HID midlevel, and fully LED top.
Now, what exactly the US will get, in terms of headlight cleaning/leveling/steering systems is to be seen.

Korean cars look great but drive weird. interior improved but not yet a match to Germans or to Lexus and Infinity. Resale value is not good too.

Nice that Hyundai has come yp with protection for the flimsy plastic bumbers that are on vehicles for many years. It looks like the strip of some sort of polymer ot synthetic rubber is fixed onto the front bumper. Tha may help depending on the height of other vehicles that may hit yours whenback parking. Good move by Hyundai.....but what about the rear bumper, did you forget to install one there ?????? Come on Hyundai put one on the rear bumper as well !!!
