i was very disappointed when this redesign of the explorer was released. it seems that ford chose to ignore one of the often chanted benefits of unibody over body-on-frame design...weight savings. this explorer actually weighs MORE than the previous truck...if ford had put the modern engines in an updated version of that vehicle, it would have been more capable than this minivan/cuv AND gotten better fuel economy.
