2013 Frankfurt Motor Show Highlights

The 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show kicked off this week in Germany as world automakers gathered to showcase their latest, most-advanced offerings. The 65th incarnation of the biennial event opens to the public Saturday following four press and industry days, and runs through Sept. 22. According to the Detroit News, this year's show — which in 2011 attracted 928,000 visitors — boasts 70 world premieres, including the obligatory envelope-pushing concept cars, but also a remarkable number of battery or hybrid gas-electric vehicles.

We didn't make the trip ourselves, but we thought you might like to see some highlights from the show. Check out the photo gallery below to see our selections; click each image to enlarge.

Some great looking performance cars are headed our way. The future indeed looks bright!

Hopefully the Two Audis Concepts may be Produced. Also would like to see that Volvo on the street. Finger Crossed!
That Kia Concept would be interesting to see where it leads but don't see it coming to America.
Not liking the Lexus Concept.

Sharp looking Volvo Coupe.
