2013 Jaguar XJ: Test-Car Photo Gallery

Jaguar's flagship luxury sedan is a blend of traditional luxury and new fuel-efficient technology. For 2013, the XJ uses a new base engine, a 340-horsepower, supercharged V-6. It joins a normally aspirated 385-hp, 5.0-liter V-8 and a supercharged version of the V-8, good for 510 hp. New across the board are an eight-speed automatic transmission and a fuel-saving auto stop-start system.

Although the XJ is more fuel efficient, Cars.com reviewer Kelsey Mays says the eight-speed is inferior to the transmission it replaces, and the start/stop system is intrusive. He also cautions shoppers about Jaguar’s poor reliability ratings, especially because of the high cost of entry.

Base models with the supercharged V-6 start at $74,095, those with the regular 5.0-liter V-8 begin at $82,095 and supercharged V-8 versions start at $90,495; all prices include an $895 destination fee. Mays' supercharged V-6-equipped test car came in at $88,825 after adding goodies like a Meridian sound system, heated front windshield, Visibility Package (adaptive front lights, intelligent high beams and cornering lights), Portfolio Package (extra-wide leather front seats with massage function, suede headliner, four-zone climate control and heated and cooled front and rear seats), Illumination Package (lighted door and trunk sills and illuminated air vents) and 19-inch polished wheels.

I had to trade my BMW 335i in for a Jaguar to have a reliable Daily Driver.
Isn't that a turn about ?
So far 7 months in, the car has been flawless. Can't say that about the Beemer it was in the shop 60 days after purchase. and never stopped.

love my Jaguar, I love the appeal. I love the attention my black Jaguar XJ receives. I was apprehensive when I was planning to buy it but now that I a proud owner of a Jag. I am waiting to test drive a Jaguar F-type

Like James, I cannot be prouder of my Jag. I can't swing a dead cat without hitting a BMW in Southern California. Jaguar, not so. You feel like a member of a very exclusive club.
Drop Dead Gorgeous looks, power, and interior coddling.
