Cars.com Family Reviews the 2013 Toyota Avalon

13Avalon

With its enormous backseat, comfy front seats and a trunk that’s double-stroller ready, the redesigned 2013 Toyota Avalon is ready for family duty, says Cars.com Family reviewer Carrie Kim. This five-seater has a smooth ride, but it also has plenty of power thanks to its 3.5-liter V-6 engine. The one downside Carrie found with this full-size sedan was its price: The Avalon starts at $31,885, but her test car cost a whopping $42,494.

Frustrated

As someone who is currently shopping for a 2013 Avalon XLE to replace an old Camry LE, I have to agree that the lower-priced Avalon XLE are few and far between.

None at our local Toyota dealer, 1 within 150 miles of us, and another within 250 miles of us. And both of those in nasty colors neither my wife nor I would want to be seen in.

There are plenty of the Limited, Touring and Premium Avalons available, in colors that we like, but for what they cost, I could buy a Lexus ES, if I wanted one.

The 2013 avalon limited v6 model rides like a lumber truck with the 18 inch time & low profile tires. When I asked Toyota to change out the rims/tires to a 17 inch rim & different tire they said sorry nothing can be done??
