The Ford Atlas concept may not be as futuristic-looking as concepts often are, but it's certainly a glimpse into the future. The Atlas, making its debut this week at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, is a preview of Ford's next generation of F-Series pickup trucks, which the automaker says aims for a practical balance between customers' professional and personal needs.

In addition to cargo-area upgrades that free space and foster ease of use, the Atlas has several technological advancements to assist with hitching and maneuvering trailers, including a 360-degree camera. The next-gen EcoBoost engine and several aerodynamics enhancements will help improve fuel economy. Inside the cab, material and design updates improve style and comfort.

Will it come with a bench seat? If not, forget it! That center console is awful. Who needs a screen in the back in a work truck? Give me legroom (sideways) instead. If it can't be configured with the shifter on the column, I won't buy it.

This truck is going to tear the compation to shreads

The Atlas is a very attractive pickup truck. It's certainly more masculine and aggressive than the current F150. Maybe the success of the Raptor's aggressive design was influenced in the upcoming model? I hope it'll be priced right, along with a small diesel engine option that gets great mileage.

Looks like the Atlas just step up Ford trucks from Great to AWSOME!

Hope to see one in show rooms soon. Need some one to test drive it for a month as a promotion? Love to do it. Even take my 30' camper for a spin.
