Cars.com Reviews the 2012 Honda Insight
A light refresh for 2012 made Honda's Insight hybrid a bit more competitive, but it's not enough to go up against the newbie, the Toyota Prius c, according to Cars.com reviewer Joe Bruzek. Although the Insight’s gas mileage improved for 2012, the Prius c's outstanding fuel economy, good price and high features content are hard to beat, Bruzek says.

I had the chance to look under the hood of a 2011 Insight and notice the A/C Compressor is belt driven. Does the auto stop/start feature in the engine still function with the A/C on? I'd be annoyed!
Despite Prius c being foot shorter, it has the same 99 cu. ft. interior volume like Insight. But it has 51 MPG and is a full hybrid and that's 1 reason it sells at 3,000 units / month which is 10 times that of Insight.
But Honda could certainly do something to make Insight sell well.
