More Than 40 Vehicles To Debut at 2012 L.A. Auto Show

LA-Auto-Show-2012

The folks behind the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show must be an overly excitable bunch. They're announcing details on the show more than four months out. Judging by what they've told us, however, it looks like the show will have fewer entries than last year and will start later.

The L.A. Auto Show is the first major auto show of the season, and that season will start nearly two weeks later than it did last year. The show has been pushed back to Nov. 28 and 29.

There will be at least 20 all-new releases at the show this year and at least 40 North American specific releases. Last year, there were 21 all-new releases at the show and 50 releases overall, so the initial figure for 2012 is down from 2011.

Chevrolet, BMW, Fiat, Volkswagen, Acura, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan and Toyota will show off all-new vehicles or concepts at the auto show.

L.A. is known for debuts of luxury and green models, and this year won't disappoint, according to event planners. At least 12 of the models unveiled will be luxury vehicles from marquees like Acura, Bentley, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover and Porsche. The show also will feature several new clean-diesel and high-mileage models, too.

We'd expect to see the redesigned 2013 Land Rover Range Rover, Volkswagen Beetle convertible and a production-ready version of the 2013 Acura RLX at the show, among other models.
