Recall Alert: 2012 Ram 1500
Chrysler is recalling 129 model-year 2012 versions of the Ram 1500 pickup truck due to an incorrectly sized spare tire, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The affected vehicles were manufactured on Jan. 5 and 6, 2012, and have a spare tire that doesn’t match the size listed on the tire placard. Installing the wrong size tire could cause the electronic stability system to engage unexpectedly, increasing the risk of injury. You can check your vehicle’s build date on a sticker on the driver-side doorjamb.
Chrysler will notify owners later this month, and dealers will inspect and replace the spare tire free of charge. Owners can call Chrysler at 800-853-1403 or NHTSA's vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 for more info.
