2013 Cadillac XTS Comes With Free iPad
When the Cadillac XTS goes on sale in late spring, buyers will be treated to a free iPad. It will come loaded with an application for CUE, the carmaker's multimedia system, with the goal of getting owners acquainted with the system.
The Cadillac XTS is one of the first Caddys to come equipped with CUE, or Cadillac User Experience. The CUE app on the iPad will allow owners to "test-drive" the touch-sensitive system, according to Cadillac. The app mimics many of the controls and features that owners will see in the center display console on their XTS, says the luxury carmaker.
Cadillac isn't the first automaker to offer a free iPad to buyers. When Hyundai launched its flagship Equus sedan for 2011, customers were offered an iPad-based owner's manual at first, but the promotion was replaced with a paperback manual starting in the 2012 model year, according to USA Today.
For folks interested in what type of iPad you get, it's the latest generation with Wi-Fi, according to Cadillac spokeswoman Jordana Strosberg.

Does anyone other than marketing people think that these promotions actually drive sales? When you're buying a $30k/$40k/$50k+ car, a free iPod, phone, or iPad shouldn't have anything to do with what is the best car to buy.
I would imagine the target demographic for this car would already own one of these devices.
Yeah really. Throw in an iPad with a Sonic and you might very well score some sales.
by the way nothing is free
