Nissan Teases Pathfinder Concept With Video Snippets

With less than a week left before the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Nissan is releasing video snippets of the vehicle it will debut there: the Pathfinder Concept. The thinly veiled concept will morph into the production version of the next-generation Pathfinder SUV, which is set to go on sale in fall 2012.

It’s clear from the videos that the next-generation Pathfinder will retain its rugged looks yet add more fluid lines and chrome exterior trim. The look is less truck, more crossover.

So far, we know it will reprise the current version’s seven-passenger seating setup and will continue to offer all-wheel drive. The current Pathfinder rides on a traditional body-on-frame SUV platform, which the new version will ditch. We’re assuming the new Pathfinder will be closely related to the 2013 Infiniti JX, the luxury brand’s new seven-passenger crossover.

Nissan also plans to unveil an electric van concept at the show. Check back for more information after both concepts debut on Monday as well as complete coverage of the 2012 Detroit auto show.

So far I'm disappointed. I thought it would look a lot better.
