Most Popular Car Seat Checks
Parents, grandparents and caretakers know what a pain it can be to install child-safety seats into a car. Imagine doing it over and over and over again. That's what our Car Seat Check team does nearly every week as it tests new cars to find out how easy it is to use the Latch system.
Car Seat Checks are performed by Cars.com editor Kelsey Mays, Cars.com photographer Ian Merritt and Cars.com editor and certified car-seat technician Jennifer Newman.
During these checks, we see if there's enough legroom to accommodate the different kinds of car seats. We also check to see if three car seats can fit in a second-row bench. We make sure the three car seats aren't packed in so tightly that a child sitting in a booster seat can't reach the seat belt buckle to buckle up independently.
We use a Britax Roundabout convertible child-safety seat, a Graco SnugRide 30 infant-safety seat and a high-back Graco TurboBooster. We chose these car seats because they are among the most popular in their categories, and we wanted to use car seats that parents might own. The car seats were purchased by Cars.com.
