Cars.com Reviews the 2012 Honda Pilot
Despite its age and ho-hum looks, the 2012 Honda Pilot is Cars.com’s top choice among reasonably priced large crossovers and SUVs in a recent Shootout. That’s because the Pilot does everything really well and offers plenty of standard features at a reasonable price, according to Cars.com Executive Editor Joe Wiesenfelder.

I see what you mean about the center stack controls. [clicking on the photo shows last years' vs. current]
But I have a problem with the gear shift placement. Looks like you'd be bumping it when going to use the center controls. At the very least, taking your eyes off the road [for too long] to refocus around it for some of the switches/knobs.
In July 2012 I had made the decision that in September I was going to be in the market for a new Honda Pilot 2012. Prior to that I started to do research on what enhancements were being done vs. the 2011 Pilot. What I can tell you that they refined the cylinder management six, four, three cylinders. Not to mention that the front grill has been toned down so that it does not look so bulky. The rear view camera/navigation system screen is very large and clear vs. the 2011 that was very tiny in the rear view mirror and appeared to be fuzzy looking. On September 12, 2011 I did purchased this 2012 Pilot EXL with navigation system. I took it on a very long trip and got 24 mpg. The color is black. Would recommend this vehicle to anyone.
Sounds uber complicated. What about those folks who bought a Honda from a third party and never received this magic code? What a headache!
