Cars.com Reviews the 2011 BMW 1 Series M

2011 BMW 1 Series MThe lighter weight and smaller profile make the 2011 BMW 1 Series a perfect candidate for the M moniker, according to Cars.com senior editor Joe Wiesenfelder. The performance upgrades certainly transform the 1 Series M into a balanced, controllable yet thrilling driving machine, but is the model distinctive enough to step out of the shadow cast by the BMW M3?

So, with it loaded up including navi, and a dealer premium mark-up, it's going to cost about 55k...

I do see what BMW is doing, however, I would stick with the M3. Whoever can afford the price jump should definitely do so. This car is just too small, so unless you drive by yourself all the time, I would not recommend it.

Thanks for the honest and balanced review. I've seen and read many reviews that suggested that this car could do no wrong, and only two (yours included) that suggested otherwise.

the car is too small, fine one for petite people

That's why I'm a Joe Wiesenfelder fan. His reviews are not biased.

I have a 98 M3 BMW and I'm am a big fan of bimmers but I have to say that 2011 BMW 1 series M is not my type ; I don't like the design of the car.
