Recall Alert: 2009-2010 Ford F-150

2010f150

Ford is recalling 280,946 Ford F-150s from the 2009 and 2010 model years due to a faulty door handle housing, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

In a crash, this defect could cause the door to open. Vehicles included in the recall were manufactured from Jan. 18, 2008, through Nov. 30, 2009.

Owners will be notified Feb. 14. The recall will be issued in two phases. First, owners will be instructed to take their F-150s to a dealer for an inspection. If the vehicle fails the inspection, the owner will be asked to return once parts are available to have the defect addressed. There are two possible fixes, one that includes an additional spring embossment and another that replaces the interior door handle module.

Owners can contact Ford at 866-436-7332 or NHTSA's vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236.

Yet another Ford recall..... No big Suprise...

has anyone elses gas lid broken. the hinge just doesn't close the lid anymore.

Another car recall by Ford. Maybe its time for them to try the car first for a period of time before getting it out in the open.

to Joe, we had to have the gas lid fixed within the first month of owning our 2010 F150. Has anyone had problems with the transmission? We have bumper to bumper and of course they can never find anything wrong-it skips all the time at any speed.

We also have a 2010 f150 and have had to replace the gas flap the service guy said he has replaced alot of them had to go back cause this is the second time on having to have it fixed ...This happens about every 6 months

My gas lid also went bad on my 2010 ford truck , how much does it cost to get it replaced ?

Fred

I too am having trouble with the gas flap on my 2010 pick-up. Took it to dealer, claims he has not seen too many problems with it. Wants $250 to repair, seems high. I brought the part, cost me $69. Have not repaired it yet. Took bolts off, but unit will not come off. Has anyone else tried to repair this on their own?
