VW Considers New Microbus
Volkswagen’s Chief Designer Klaus Bischoff told a British magazine that he “would not be doing my job properly if I was not thinking of bringing back the Camper.”
This was during last month's Los Angeles Auto Show media days. Typically, these types of comments get blown out of proportion on the blogosphere. Some will post images of the last Microbus concept — like the one above — and declare it a foregone conclusion that it's in the pipeline. We often don’t cover these wayward executive comments.
But then VW’s official Twitter account posted about the original story that the quote appeared in, saying “Klaus Bischoff confirms #VW is working on plans to 'bring back' a new version of the Microbus! Interested?”
We’ll give VW a little help here and ask our readers if they’d be interested in one here in the States. We ask because VW brought back the Scirocco but only sells it in Europe. Chime in using the comment section below.
