Charging the 2010 Tesla Roadster Video
If electric cars still seem like a foreign concept to you, up until a few months ago, most of the editors at Cars.com hadn’t experienced the fun of driving one of these throttle-packed vehicles, either. All that get-up-and-go requires frequent plug ins, and fortunately, our local parking garage installed two charging stations. Cars.com senior editor Joe Wiesenfelder took a crack at using the machines during his test of the 2010 Tesla Roadster. Much to his surprise, the attempted charge did not go as planned. Check out the video above to see why.

I know electric cars are the future, but this whole fiddling around with adapters, and adapter extensions are a nuisance. Besides, I could already see trouble ahead. Is there any way to prevent someone from using a 6-outlet power strip and then hooking up 6 cars at one while paying only once to charge it? Maybe Cars.com should try to experiment and see if it works, because you know there will be people trying it in the near future. Others might charge the car and power a microwave to cook the food they bought at from the supermarket, or charge a cell phone... the possibilities are endless.
Get an adapter for the J1772 plug. I'm sure that many more will come soon (I have heard that Coulomb has one in the works). Until then, here's one I found:

Not the most elegant but you really don't want to charge at 110v...
