Cars.com Reviews 2011 Subaru Outback
The Subaru Outback was completely redesigned last year, and with that the automaker fixed one of the biggest issues Cars.com editor Kelsey Mays says the wagon faced: backseat room. The wagon is now 10% roomier and competes with crossovers like the Toyota Venza and Honda Accord Crosstour. The Outback’s affordable starting pricing and its good gas mileage make it a strong competitor, but it’s so-so interior appointments, outdated navigation system and sluggish acceleration with the four-cylinder are detriments some car shoppers might want to look at carefully. That's the car we are hoping to get in a few months. I was hoping the navigation system would be a bit better, because it sounds clunky. I wonder if we're better off getting a separate GPS instead of paying for the option.
Liked our 2011 Outback so much we bought a second 2013 model. Like everything about the new one except the navigation system. It says "turn left in 100 feet" when I'm already in the middle of the intersection--not good on California multi-lane streets. It is very hard to use. We move our years-old portable GPS between cars because Subaru's is so annoying.
