Recall Alert: 2009-2010 Nissan Cube

Nissan is recalling 46,000 Cube compact cars from the 2009 and 2010 model years because of excessive fuel leakage after a rear crash test, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Any fuel escaping from a vehicle can lead to a fire. The company is recalling Cubes built from Jan. 30, 2009, to July 30, 2010. Dealers will attach a special protector to the gasoline recirculation tube, which will prevent leakage.

The recall will begin on or before Aug. 30. Owners will be contacted via mail. For more information, owners can call Nissan at 800-647-7261 or NHTSA’s hot line at 888-327-4236.

This is reminiscent of the Ford Pinto defect that led to one of the first and largest vehicle recalls in US history.

Driving in your car with your kids can prove to be an experience that could leave you and your cars interior very much exhausted. In fact, children can be quite clumsy that anything they hold could be found on the floor or out of their hands in just the blink of an eye.

But i don't think is there any problem in this recalling, rather than i think after this recalling the Cube will be come up with more error free. Isn't it guys?

My 2010 tends to stall for no apparent reason. I could be at a stop sign give some gas to go and the car won't move, what the heck?

my 2010 has the same problem will be driving and all of a sudden no gas it just stalls. put the car in park then back to drive and its fine what the heck is going on not getting much help from nissan no i am trying to get help from reginal manager my warenty is about to expire and dont feel i should have to pay for this. my car is cute love her and dont want to get rid of her please help. any ideas

also my tires have less then 20000 miles on them and i also have to replace them already. why should that be discount tire says something is wrong. any ideas on this
