Reader Review of the Week: 2010 Mercedes GLK

Reader Review“1st Benz” from Denver is a self-proclaimed car nut, owning nearly as many cars as years I’ve been alive. After seven months with a new 2010 Mercedes GLK, 1st Benz is ready to tell the world that this luxury crossover is the best ride he has ever purchased. The car has tanklike construction, but the gas mileage could be a bit better. Read the full review to find out how this Germanic creation fares in the eyes of this humble Denverite. Once you’re done with that, post your own reader review here.

“I am a car nut and have owned more than 18 cars in my life. This is the first Mercedes Benz product for me. Since I've owned my GLK now for 7 months I believe I can say it is the nicest vehicle I have ever owned. It is very comfortable and the build quality is outstanding. The GLK feels very solid. The first time you shut the door you can tell it’s built like a tank. Its road manners are very good. Especially considering it has 20-inch wheels on it.

“If your planning on buying a GLK be sure to get it with the premium package as this gives you the most features you would expect in a car of this class. The seats in this car are the BEST I have ever sat in. My back usually hurts after awhile in most cars. But not in the GLK. It is a smaller CUV and that makes it easy to manuever and park in tight spaces. It does pretty good in the snow even with the 20-inch wheels and all-season tires.

“Gas mileage is not that good but since I don't drive a lot, usually 20 miles a day to and from work, this is not a big deal for me. I usually have to fill up once a week or week and a half. I love how the front seats lift really high upwards when you want to vacuum the interior. It makes it very easy to keep the interior clean. I am a clean freak and prefer to keep my cars clean at all times. If your interested in the GLK try to find a certified used one. There are a few around and certified gets you the 100K mile warranty.”

Benz is great, however I prefer the coupes (CLK) instead of an SUV since I'm always driving alone.

My wife drives a GLK350; hers is in black also. Her previous car was a Nissan Armada, and I can honestly say we both like this a lot more.

That's a nice Subaru although a little over-priced.

Every GLK I've seen had serious orange peel in the paint. It's hard to get the wallet out when Hyundai puts a better paint job on its vehicles than Benz. I've looked at them side by side at the auto show and Benz comes up short. And I agree its styling is derivative of the Forester.

Yeah.. I'm very much satisfied to know about lot more on Mercedes GLK. Thanks Colin to know about you. You are a real experienced person who can define a car very well. I support your thinking about Mercedes.

Wao, Mercedes GLK such a great model, looking awesome in black color. This is one of my favorite cars. I don’t have Mercedes but do have a Mercedes sticker on the back window because I love it.
