Are Auto Shows Still Necessary?
Cars.com’s Mike Hanley talked to industry analysts as well as automakers that bailed out of recent auto shows about the future of the auto show concept. The consensus leaned toward the large, consumer-focused shows continuing for now, but smaller, regional shows could see a larger impact as the economy continues to falter.

Auto shows provide drama and excitement for shoppers and enthusiasts that you couldn't get from any other presentation format. If the smaller shows are in trouble, it may be because they don't show anything you can't see on a local lot any Sunday morning.
Where else can you check out so many models and manufacturers at one time without having to deal with the sales press.
