NHTSA Investigates Stalling Toyota Corollas
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation of 397,000 Toyota Corolla and Matrix vehicles from the 2006 model year.
The agency will make a preliminary evaluation following 26 complaints about engines quitting while driving, including on highways. Some of the complaints focus on the electronic control module. Toyota issued a technical service bulletin on the ECM in 2007 calling for its replacement.
NHTSA might open an investigation of the Matrix’s sibling, the Pontiac Vibe. If the safety agency does find a problem, it could lead to a recall for all vehicles with the 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine.
This would be bad news for Toyota, which is already under fire for its record-setting recall of 4 million vehicles.

Maybe this could explain why my Matrix keeps stalling and yet the dealer tells me nothing is wrong with the vehicle.....
I wonder if this is because Toyota is trying to grow to fast and are making stupid mistakes.
What Stellar said. For sure.
More bad news for
Toyota...oh my...I remember when they were great cars.

Haha, Me too!
I think its pretty safe to say that it wont be long until Hyundai takes their place (in the scheme of things it wont be long... But its a big battle [so long as Hyundai keeps up their drive])
And Honda still relies most on two cars: the Civic and the Accord. Wise move Honda. Toyota, slow down!
So, the Toyotas are either stalling or won't stop? lol
These toyota cars are built in the US. We never have these kind of problems when these cars are built in Japan.
The argument was to build them here because it's cheaper but I never see the price come down.
Toyota is becoming the new GM, they are churning cars as fast as they can and this is causing some quality problems.
Took my 05 Corolla in because it was has the problem described... was told a diagnosis would cost $98 with no word on waranty coverage or final cost! If it's the part they've been replacing ($900) that's $1000 bucks!
