Cars.com Reviews the 2010 Hyundai Tucson
We were really impressed with the 2010 Hyundai Tucson at the recent L.A. Auto Show. But after driving it, how do we feel? Or, more accurately, how does Kelsey Mays feel about this little crossover? Well, he likes it. Except for the fact that it is little. Find out if the Lilliputian dimensions completely sour him in his full review.

Thanks for sharing the post. 2010 Hyundai Tucson looks amazing. I really like the color. Its very comfortable for a big family. The car looks very powerful.
Isnt this supposed to be based on the new Sonata? Why is it so small?
Looks sweet!!! Good points about the size compared to others, such as the RAV4. But for me, I prefer the smaller end of the scale... why does everything always get bigger? Some of us want a little extra space without going too big. Anyways, it will seem huge compared to my Mazda3!
Dave - any word on complete pricing and option availability? The ballpark figures you provided sound pretty good. Can't find details on hyundai's website. Also, is this going on sale next month?
I agree with Ken- why does everything have to be so much bigger? The current RAV4 is so much larger than the original- some of us want an SUV that has compact dimensions in the city. I loved the original RAV, but wouldn't consider the current one because not all of us need three rows of seats or all the space. This is where the Tucson may be able to fill in a niche that the CR-V and RAV4 used to. Thank you Hyundai for not giving into temptation
To Ken,
I've already seen some of the new Tucsons on sale, so just look at your dealerships if you can.
Pricing can be found here: http://hyundainews.com/Media_Kits/2010_Models/Tucson/Pricing.asp
we broke down the pricing when it was announced.

it's also mentioned directly in the review.
What are you missing?
Great looking ride!
Hyundai is not my type of car, i
love Honda crv it looks very
muscular and also the styling is
really cool.
Hyundai manufactured many booming cars but I didn't like this one. It is too small.
Anyway thanks for the sharing..
Your blog is so informative.
This is SUPPOSED to be the small as it is a compact SUV entry. It is based off the Elantra platform. If you want a larger Hyundai SUV, you have the choice of the Santa Fe based on the current Sonata platform, or the (larger still) Veracruz.
I think this new Tucson is a great looking rig. It looks like it's ready to eat up some pavement!
Andy - thanks!
Dave - Sorry - didn't see the previous post - that does have all the pricing details - Thanks!
thank you for your great coments

I was driving my new loaded Diamond Silver 2010 Tucson Limited on the freeway and I passed a brand new Mercedes GLK –Class SUV; he sped up to check out my ride, he just kept looking and looking. I turn around smiled, thinking what a fool, my car looks better, I’m getting better MPG’s and I paid about half the price. If you know anything about cars you have to like the looks and you can’t beat the warranty. Watch out Hyundai’s coming up big time…
Hi All,
Just picked up a 2010 Tucson Limited Edition, with the Premium Package, and boy, does it blow away the competition !! Have been researching this segment for about 4 months, and this one is perfect. Apart from the Cargo space, which is relatively restricted (though more than sufficient for me )than its peers, there is simply nothing that matches up. More bang for the buck ( Fully Loaded compares to SUV's priced atleast 10 grand more). Splendid ! Keep up the good work Hyundai
I really like this re-design and I am glad they got rid of the previous style which was very dated.
I have been thinking of a small SUV to replace my mazda3 hatch and this is perfect. I have looked at the cr-v and the rav4 they just don't suit my style. The personality just isn't there.
The icing on the cake is that the korean auto makers are offerening such awesome power-train warranties.
I also looked at smaller american SUV's but they charge way too much lesser features and don't look half as good as this Hyundai. While I would like to support American brands, they are coming around way too late on getting to fuel efficient smaller vehicles that look good, perform good, and are available at reasonable prices.
I too think this redesigned Tucson is sharp but if you need for your car to have personality you have low self esteem.
The re-designs of the Tucson are awesome! I like how Hyundai/Kia are making strides in terms of design and performance!
@S4, that sounds like a pretty uninformed assumption. Some people like their vehicles to have a personality and not be cookie cutter or bland. If I am going to pay for something I want to enjoy getting into it everyday. Anyone that knows me can tell you that my self esteem is anything but low 'cause I put the Awe in Awesome! ;)
But, as a value add and to stay along with what this posting section is for, The Tuscon has a great looking design, offers good performance for a 4 banger and has the right price tag to go along with it.
I love 2010 Hyundai Tucson because it is very fast and confortable, you can not compare with another one. I just prefer this, and it appearance is really beautiful.
wow!!! the design of 2010 Tucson is really amazing,is sure that i will get a car like this one.
I replaced an '01 Ford Taurus, and while my family needed something larger, I refused to drive something that needs its own zip code or "wide load" escorts. I love the sizing of the new Tucson because it's large enough for my family's needs without feeling like I'm driving a boat. You can't beat the fuel economy without spending a ton more $$ to dive into a hybrid. I like to step on the gas and GO, and the new engine did the trick for me to get over my fears that I wouldn't be able to accelerate with something resembling haste when the need arose. After spending an embarrassing amount of time online comparing mpg, finding just the right size to fit my family, pricing, warranties, and then test driving a number of "maybe's" until the salespeople were ready to go insane...the new Tucson was a hands-down winner in every single category. I have a long commute to work every day, and love my time behind the wheel; it's fun to drive, very comfy, and looks like I spent many thousands more than I did. My husband keeps trying to steal her from me!
Hyundai is known to be one of the best reputed brand all over the world. This 2010 Hyundai Tucson seems to be very luxurious and comfortable. Red color looks really stunning.I am sure this car will rock all over.
