2011 Ford Fiesta Video

As it prepares to do battle with the likes of the Toyota Yaris and Honda Fit, Ford’s new subcompact, the Fiesta, will have to first face down Cars.com reviewer Joe Wiesenfelder. I was sooooo looking forward to the new Fiesta and it was a potential replacement for my Focus ZX5.

I was able to sit in the same blue in the LA Auto Show and was appalled by the lack of quality. Much of the interior plastic trim was able to be popped off with light pressure (i.e interior door handles, console trim, the trim around the radio) as well as the plastic surround on the side mirror. It all felt very flimsy and was extremely disapointing. It was the kind of quality that was from a Chevy Cavalier or Saturn ION

I really hope that it was just some pre-production woes and the one on sale will be better built- otherwise it ruins an exceptional small car

I think the Fiesta is going to do really well and hopefully continue the trend of Americans driving smaller cars.

VANDAL! Ford commando forces will descend on your home and workplace momentarily.

Withhold judgment on the interior quality for now -- especially in terms of trim adhesion. Early auto-show cars attempt to portray the real thing, but they're often assembled hurriedly. (It probably doesn't help that people try prying parts off; you weren't the first.) Stuff tends to fall off pre-production models we test more frequently than on full-production ones. Not to say all of your complaints will be resolved, but wait and see.
