Soft-top convertibles afford several major advantages over hard-top convertibles, including:

1. Less weight
2. Less intrusive when down (i.e.: larger usable trunk space)
3. Can be folded or deployed when driving at a faster speed
4. Can be easier to replicate the coupe lines

I can understand concerns of security, which is where I personally think hard-top has the edge.

For me though, living in the Pacific NW, it's the coupe for me.
