Part of the interest in the Gen5 4Runner was generated by how many features were removed from the Gen4, like LED taillights, running boards, mast antenna on fender instead of hidden in glass, steel spare wheel instead of alloy (so no 5-wheel tire rotations), interior release of gas filler door, projector headlights, pull handle on tailgate, key locks for passenger door and tailgate, small rear interior mirrors, and more. My guess is these are some of the casualties of the falling dollar against the yen.
