The Future Jeep Lineup

Jeep
Today, Chrysler executives revealed their future plans for the Jeep brand. Prior to the company’s bankruptcy, many considered Jeep the only brand valuable enough to sell off. Now, the company will slowly revamp the lineup, much like they’re doing with the Dodge brand.

Here’s a look at their new commercial.

There weren’t nearly as many specific details given about the new Jeep models or what the major refreshes would include. The most notable new product mentioned is an all-new Jeep SUV based on a very small Fiat model. The company says the entire Jeep brand will be converted to a new architecture by 2013 and ride on front-, all- and four-wheel drive.

2010

Jeep Commander

  • Final year of production
Jeep Grand Cherokee

Chrysler had already tried to pimp out the Jeep brand name by putting it on a Caliber and calling it a Jeep Compass. They're ugly and nothing about them will EVER be "Trail Rated".

Fiat could keep the brand pure with the Liberty, Grand Cherokee and the stalwart Wrangler. Why do they have to add a Mini-SUV competitor? Stop misusing the name Jeep and placing it on poor machines. Sure, the Grand Cherokee isn't a pure off-road contender, but Jeep folks know that and are fine with it. But the Wrangler and the Liberty can hold their own.

The brand could stay profitable with staying pure and not diluting the lineup.

This coming from a '96 Cherokee 4x4 owner. Gotta love it - never ever sell it!

What do the mean by the Jeep Wrangler getting a "New Design"???

Peppy

I hope they don't make the Wrangler even bigger than it is now... mini SUV? come on. stupid. Keep the Liberty, GC and the Wrangler and be happy with it.

95 Grand Cherokee owner here.

Larry

Actually, How about a Cherokee replacement and a small pickup like the Gladiator concept. Keep jeep true to the trail rated name and drop the compass and patriot.

SG,
It'll be "all-new" but likely will look exactly the same as always if they're smart about it. But you never know.

If they mess-up, wimpy-up, green-up and europe-an-ize/obama-ize the wrangler... jeep is done. now. period.

The current JK line is the best wrangler set in years IMHO.

They are not totaly heading it the right direction here. they need to keep the Liberty close to what it is not make it a crossover. the little Fiat Panda Is cool for what it is a Mini CUV for girls but will us consumer buy it?
Keeping the Grand Cheroke is a smart move, while it more for luxury it can off road some. my Dad does with his 2002 GC.

I recently got my first Jeep a 2006 Liberty CRD Limited. I realy like it. I wish they would offer a CRD again. Cleaner diesel is the way to go Europe getts it why don't US drivers?
