2010 Suzuki Kizashi Pricing Announced

2010SuzukiKizashi
Suzuki’s new Kizashi sedan is perhaps the company’s most important new model in years. While the SX4 hatchback and sedan helped transition the company away from large SUVs, the midsize Kizashi is aimed at the heart of the American car market. A well-equipped Kizashi with a manual transmission starts at $18,999; the entry-level S model with a continuously variable automatic transmission costs $20,499. The price does not include a $735 destination charge. The car goes on sale in December.

Unlike most of the competitors in the class, you can get all-wheel drive on every trim level, starting at $21,749. All-wheel-drive models only come equipped with the CVT.

While the Kizashi is relatively well-equipped to start — push-button start, nine-speaker stereo system with steering-wheel controls and USB, dual-zone climate control and ambient lighting — and it doesn’t undercut the class in terms of price. The new 2010 Subaru Legacy starts at $19,995 with standard all-wheel drive, and the 2010 Hyundai Sonata starts at $18,700.

If Suzuki wants to steal sales from the segment’s big boys like the slightly more expensive Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Ford Fusion — or even the value leaders — on a nameplate no one has previously heard of, it’s going to have to sell consumers on the features.

Full pricing and trim-level breakdown are below, and check out our earlier coverage of the Kizashi for more photos.

A missed opportunity in a number of ways...e.g., you have to go all the way to the top of the model line for heated seats / mirrors, unless they're being offered as separate options...and the pricing.....for a Suzuki?? You're gonna have to show me.

so is it SLS or STS? The car looks nice if not a bit Jetta-like...but dunno if it will be as big a seller as Suzuki hopes..only time will tell...may the best car win..LOL

Yeah, at those prices they're gonna have a hard time moving units. Gotta go lower like Hyundai did to slip into the competition and slowly build market share.

Not worth taking a chance at those prices. Like Billy said they're going to have to be in the kia/hyundai range to move a lot of units.

I'm guessing Suzuki will say their base model is better equipped than the next level up Sonata, Fusion etc. Which may be valid. We'll have to see when we get it in to test. Supposedly it is a fun car to drive for its class.

Should have topped out at 24k. Then it would have had a price advantage. At this price, the Ford Fusion is a better buy and better car.

Suzuki made large SUV's? I know that the XL-7 did have seats, but it wasnt much bigger than the Equinox it was based on...as in, it wasnt in the same class as the larger car-based SUV's, and surely not mid- or full- size truck-based SUV's.

No SE manual at $19999? I have to move up $2500 to get a manual with cruise control? Missed opportunity. Even my entry level Camry has cruise control. I don't need foglights, a moonroof, and the hi-end stereo.

Maybe when the year-end rebates start I'll consider one.

Damn that's a nice looking car!
Hope I can get one soon =)
I know Suzuki can make good quality cars, so there's no reason not to buy the Kizashi! Just see how much better looking it is compared to the competitors!
And according to every testdrive I've read, it drives the hell out off all the other cars in it's class!
So it looks like Suzuki has done a great job with the Kizashi ;)
