Cars.com Reviews the 2010 GMC Terrain

Terrain
The GMC Terrain shares its DNA with the Chevy Equinox, a vehicle our reviewers truly enjoyed. Can the Terrain improve on that formula? Cars.com reviewer Kelsey Mays compares the Terrain to its twin and explains how the Terrain might help GM make up some ground in the increasingly important crossover market. Also, if you’re in the market for a Terrain, you'll want to hear what Mays has to say about the four-cylinder engine versus the V-6.

Wow. GM hasn't made anything this ugly since the Aztek. Doesn't anyone look at these designs before they go out the door?!

steve

I would imagine if you say "no" at GM you could lose your job. It's probably better just to agree with Mgt and say it looks good.

BD

You're an Aztek!

George

The Terrain looks like a hearse with a George Foreman Grill nailed to its front end!

This vehicle will be a huge hit for GM. I disagree with the negative comments about its styling - it's modern and ballsy. This vehicle gets great mileage and is an alternative to girlymen vehicles like the outback.

Did anyone survive the accident?

SuckitGM

One word.

"Homely"

Looks like a dopey Winnie the Pooh character.

You guys are fools...lets guess you ride around in some japenise ride that someone in your family has one just like. Youre the cookie cutter generation taught to believe you think different when your thoughts are handed to you through entertainment, I think it looks great....and I thought that thought ALL by myself....grow up.

AJ

I'm guessing all of the commentors above drive japanese or european vehicles which is fine if you enjoy blending in with everyone else. The styling on the terrain is definitely different, but in a good way. It is very bold and pronounced. It offers more features on the most base model available than it's foriegn competitors offer on their mid grade packag and GMC does it for a better price. The competitors hybrids can barely keep up with the fuel economy of the 4Cyl model offered in the terrain. All in all I say GM hit a home run.

cody

i agree about the styling. it is distinctive. besides, it's no worse than the cr-v, rav-4, rogue, element, or escape. i applaud gm for continuing to create truly different styling for vehicles that share platforms. and for those who love to bitch about what you call 'badge engineering', this is not it. badge engineering is slapping a different badge on what is otherwise an unchanged vehicle. examples can be seen at the ford/lincoln/mercury dealership.

Erik

So because it doesnt look like a boring cookie cutter box like all the hondas and toyotas then its an ugly peice of junk. Yeesh, People forget how hideious the Honda Element was, white was the worst color, 80 percent of the vehicles exterior was grey plastic, then the hood and a small part of the doors and the roof were actually painted....but because honda made it, it HAS to be the best most perfect vehicle on the road, pfsh, dumbasses...

Billy

I thought GMC traditionally made TRUCKS...this crossover is nothing more than a CAR on steroids. Neither the Acadia nor this "Terrain" has any business with the TRUCK brand! They're CARS! Also I'm thinking Honda Ridgeline with a camper top...LOL

Billy

On the other hand this CAR makes the Canyon TRUCK look like a s**tbox on wheels.

GREAT DESIGNS HAVE GREAT PROPORTIONS! Unfortunately, GM’s designers missed the mark on the new GMC Terrain. In my opinion, the oversized fender flares ruin the overall appearance of the vehicle. Yes, the fender flares do go with the boxy-Jeep look, but are disproportionate to the rest of the exterior design. On a positive note, I do like the interior, front nose, rear end, and the side glass design. I hope enough buyers like it because GM cannot afford another Pontiac Aztek flop.
