Toyota Bringing New 4Runner to State Fair of Texas

20104runner Toyota is introducing an all-new 2010 Toyota 4Runner at the State Fair of Texas in late September. The venue, which is often used by automakers to announce pickup truck news, should be just right for this truck-based midsize SUV. Toyota says the 4Runner is now “more rugged than ever” and “offers sure-footed off-road capability.”

Other SUVs this size are disappearing (Chevrolet TrailBlazer) or emphasizing on-road duty and moving to a unibody, or carlike, platform (next-generation Ford Explorer). The current 4Runner offers V-6 or V-8 engines and is available in rear- or four-wheel drive.

Details on the 2010 are minimal at the moment, but our sibling site PickupTrucks.com will be on hand at the State Fair of Texas when the 4Runner officially debuts.

Good news that Toyota will build the 5th generation 4Runner. The 4Runners keep getting better. With almost all other automakers switching to unibody, the body-on-frame Toyota 4Runner is in a league of its own. 4Runners are definitely tough, reliable and difficult to wear out.

I like the new 4runner- and you always see old ones on the road, which is a good sign for durability. They are safe, hardy trucks. My only problems stem from the tires and snow – not rain. I live where there are really steep inclines and I get snow tires put on every December- and still need tire chains which I got from Ken Jones out in Worchester, MA. Does anyone have any good advice for snow tires for toyotas?

For snow tires, you could alway try to get some normal tires and get snow studs from http://www.maxigripstore.com/ instead of chains.
