Pricing Announced for 2010 Scion xD
Scion’s compact xD gets one important upgrade for 2010 and will have a starting MSRP of $14,800 for manual-transmission versions and $15,600 for the automatic. This does not include a destination fee of $670.
This is a modest increase over the 2009 model, which started at $14,650, but wait till you hear what you get for that extra $150: The 2010 xD gains standard electronic stability control, a key safety feature.
The subcompact will also have a new Pioneer audio system with MP3 player connectivity standard. As an option, you can upgrade to the Alpine stereo system with HD radio, a backup camera and navigation.

I think that selling toy cars (Scion handle like that) at almost 20k is going to be a tough sell for most parents... the ones who pay for this cars for their kids.
Cool car. Needs a sunroof.
Why does an Xd need a backup camera?????
SouthTX: $14,800 is "almost 20K?" It's under $15K and it's closer to $10K! Brilliant argument.
And a "toy?" Read some reviews and check the reliability. It buries whatever gas-guzzler you drive down there in Oilville.
i really doubt it would bury and "gas-guzzler" that he drives down in "Oilville."
There are plenty of cars that are more refined and better overall than the xD. Sure, its inexpensive and fuel efficient, but so is a Hyundai Elantra, a car that is leagues ahead of the xD in terms of refinement for the price. The xD may also have "agile handling," but this car is no way fun to drive. Plus, the interior is absolutely awful in terms of fit and finish, and the sets are extremely uncomfortable even for those that are average height.
personally, i would take any "gas guzzler" from down in "Oilville" than the xD any day.
Of course, and the dealers are going to sell you a car for less than 15k... brilliant argument.
14800 + 670 and just for a basic, cheapo car, no frills, then add the extras and do you know that cars pay taxes and title... right?
Scions handle like glorified karts. If I am going to pay that money, I would choose a better car like the Elantra or a Mazda 3.
"this cars"
"do you know that cars pay taxes"
"the sets are extremely uncomfortable"
SouthTX, JM, and Mark are the one and the same: a Bush-loving, Scion-hating basher with bad grammar and spelling.
I had a Scion xA for several years, it's a small cheap car thats pretty zippy and fun to drive, decent gas mileage and overall great utility.
That being said, the build quality sucked and after 4 years and about 55,000 miles it was creaky and noisy and many of the high tech looking plastics on the inside were worn down and shoddy looking.
Urban H, you're just a Comrade Obama-lover that supports the end of economic freedom and the rise of socialism.
sorry for making a typo. unlike the Liberals, Republicans are actually human.
Urban H, you are one of the biggest idiots i have ever come across with. congratulations. you think you are cool by making assumptions, but if this were Chevrolet or Dodge or Ford we were bashing, you'd be right there with us; that's because you liberals refuse to support American businesses and actually love to squander them with your communist programs.
Oh and by the way, Bush turned out to be a much better President than the Communist Clown running the country right now.
Considering that I drive an eleven year old Ford Escort... LOL...
Anyway, stop talking nonsense and making false assumptions. I just say that is very expensive and has very poor handling, if somebody likes it, ok, it is their money or their dad's money.
I visited this blog first time and found it very interesting and informative.. Keep up the good work thanks..
The Scion xD is a very good car for the money. If you havent noticed it's almost 12,000 dollars cheaper than most crossovers vehicles. For the price and the amount of space you get in the car it is well worth the price. My older sister has a scion tc and it is one of the best cars we own. (we have 2 fords, 2 chevys, a toyota, and a scion) The ride is smooth and the car is beautiful. I know that when i get my car later this year this is the one i am going to buy. :)
I just bought a 2010 XD and I like it a lot. Definitely a car I recommend and looks great accesorized. Sure there were other cars that looked nice like the Kia Forte or Elantra but AC was not standard on those cars and would jack the price up by almost 2k. The XD has many standard features that include AC and side curtain aibags. The gas mileage is great and the handling is fun. Best of all, its a Toyota which will last a very long time.
