2010 Honda Accord Crosstour On Sale This Fall

2009accord Honda has done it again. The company doesn’t like to draw out its new-model announcements with a concept car years before the real thing hits. Nope, it develops the car, maybe shows a prototype at a car show, and months later the real thing is on lots across the country.

That’s what we’re being given with the 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour, a new body style of the popular sedan and coupe (shown here). No official images have been released, but expect what is essentially a hatchback version of the current Accord.

We’ll have more information on the Crosstour as it becomes available. The model will go on sale this fall.

Plenty of spyshots floating around with minimal camoflauge for those curious folks who want to see it.

looks retarted they wasted money on this one

Reasoning

Trying to fight the Venza which has picked up steam selling recently

Reasoning,
it won't be as big as the venza. From the spy images it really looks like just a hatchback accord. not a whole new model like venza.

I saw the spy pics...Audi, Dodge Magnum, and Accord all wrapped up in a wagon.

Uh...at least it has AWD.

Oh wait, whoa. Okay. I saw the pics from '08. I'll have to find the '10 ones.

I've seen pics of a wagon version of something that honda/acura are putting together. Hoped it would be the crosstour...guess the crosstour was just this hatchback thing. It will likely die in about a year or two.

I think most people including myself would much rather see the Accord Tourer that they sell in Europe instead of this hunchback...I mean hatchback.

H,
The Euro accord is too small for the US Midsize segment which is essentially fullsize now for the accord in terms of interior size. It's also more upscale, hence why they sell it as the Acura TSX here.

Now, why a hatch instead of a full wagon I'm not sure. We'll see how it handles family hauling when it comes out this fall. Never fear.

I'm not sure if I would ever give up my 5 Series but if I did I would seriously consider this or the Venza. My neighbor has a Venza and it's: big, comfortable, quick, and oozes quality. Frankly the interior is so upscale I'm surprised it's a Toyota and not a Lexus. Maybe it's because he has the top trim level. I like the shape of this Accord and people who have the V6 rave about the power and the gas mileage. Americans are not generally supportive of hatchbacks but if anyone can sell to them in meaningful numbers it would probably be Toyota and Honda.

Dave T.,

The size, content, and market segment are beside the point. I'm saying I would rather see the European Accord Tourer or something similar as opposed to the Crosstour.

I think Honda is making two vehicles. One will look like a hatchback, and the other will look like a wagon/CUV.

If what I saw on those other car sites is what we can expect from Honda’s answer to the Venza, then Honda’s new Accord Tourer will be 2nd rate to Toyota, yet again (Insight vs Prius 3, most would agree the Prius is the better vehicle). Don’t get me wrong, the Accord in coupe form is nice and sharp looking, in sedan form, it’s very America (big, bold, and comfy), but in hatchback form, it looses to the Venza in style and roominess, or at least it will appear that way.

So the Accord Wagon is back?

I hope Honda is luckier than Mazda, I loved the Mazda6 hatchback and the wagon, but now they don't sell them in the States anymore.
