2009 Toyota Avalon Video
The Toyota Avalon is a big, roomy sedan that’s gone without a redesign since 2005. Cars.com reviewer Kelsey Mays notes that the Avalon’s age has begun to show, but that shouldn’t necessarily disqualify it from consideration. Take a look at the Avalon, inside and out, while Mays explains what still works for the car, and what’s in dire need of an update.

Thats an odd looking car and the interior is drowning in "metallic" plastic trim. Toyota loves that stuff.
It's no more odd looking than an impala.
I'm sold on having doors for everything. They should add doors for the seat belts and the gear shifter... oh and maybe even the gas and brake pedals.
The interior is due for an update however the exterior design still looks great. It's no wonder Edmunds said, "The Toyota Avalon is the most refined, best-built full-size sedan in the $30,000 price bracket." They also noted that the majority of Avalon buyers are former Ford and GM owners. That's not really surprising since neither offer any competition.
I had one which suffered the mentioned "lapses in quality".
"Lapsed quality" is a polite term for "Toyota garbage". Never again.

Impala isnt odd looking at all. Somewhat generic, but not odd. The Avalon has a huge rear overhand, odd headlight and tailight treatments and an interior that appears to be inspired by a 90s Buick. Its not attractive. It doesn't sell well either.
