Cars.com Reviews the 2009 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid
GM built a winner for 2008 when it introduced a redesigned Chevy Malibu to take on the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. Now, just a couple years later, the company is bankrupt and looking to reinvent itself. Cars.com reviewer Mike Hanley takes a look at one of the vehicles that will have to help GM compete in the midsize family sedan segment: the 2009 Malibu Hybrid. How did GM do in comparison with hybrid versions of the Camry and Ford Fusion? Read Hanley’s full review to find out.

It's disappointing that an otherwise appealing car has the same center stack or radio as the Equinox, Tahoe, Vue, Cobalt, G6, Aura, Corvette, Silverado, etc. Albeit, a nice look, but why does GM use it in so many cars/trucks?
...*scratches head*
And why didn't GM use the 6-speed they have available on the gas Malibus?
Theoretically it'd reduce the rough shifting and increase fuel economy and acceleration.
I just don't get it. I mean, there's the cost factor, but...
And we have not even mentioned the Hummer. Imagine the cost and consequences of having that kind of monster machine running the highways and normal residential areas. GM clearly could have done better.
This is great that GM are trying to get on the green bandwagon and better mpg isn't a bad thing. But come on, the Malibu is one of the ugliest cars on the road...I think there are more important things to worry about than a few extra mpg in a car no one will drive.
Actually the Malibu Hybrid was produced when GM had only the mild system. One would hope they would of refined it by now since the feedback to GM was that it wasn't that great to begin with. I agree with another poster that giving the Malibu Hybrid could beef up gas milleage by a couple of miles for both highway and city.
well get em while u can as GM is getting rid of em, 2010 for fleets only!
They are still lacking some of the basic features that their competitors are offering.
