2010 Cadillac SRX Priced at $34,155
Cadillac’s newest midsize luxury crossover, the 2010 SRX, will be priced at $34,155 when it goes on sale later this summer. That figure includes destination charges which Cadillac has not broken down for us. All other prices mentioned in this post do not include destination charges.
At that price, the SRX is a near price leader for the segment, besting the outgoing 2009 SRX by the princely sum of $6,305.
Compared to its German rivals — the Audi Q5 and BMW X3 — the 2010 SRX costs $3,000-$5,000 less, though its rivals come standard with all-wheel drive. The Cadillac does not.
The Lexus RX — the perennial frontrunner in this segment — comes in at nearly $2,645 more, even though its price was lowered when it was redesigned for the 2010 model year.
Though the new SRX is smaller than the outgoing model, it’s still larger than its competitors. Even so, its interior dimensions are just average for the midsize SUV class.
For the price, the 2010 Cadillac SRX comes well-equipped. The standard powertrain is a 265-hp, 3.0-liter V-6 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The new SRX is also front-wheel drive. The 2009 version was rear-wheel drive.
Standard features include 18-inch wheels, Bluetooth, an eight-speaker Bose audio system and dual-zone automatic climate control.
A 2.8-liter, turbocharged V-6; all-wheel drive; adaptive headlamps; leather seating surfaces; and a pop-up navigation system are a few of the SRX’s options. We’ll have more information and pricing as it becomes available.
Base MSRP for competitors:
- Cadillac SRX: $34,155
- Lexus RX (2010): $36,800
- Audi Q5: $37,200
- BMW X3: $39,700

No stats on the XC60? It's definitely a competitor and a formidable one at that.
Although I like the SRX redesign, I don't like the fact that it strongly resembles the Equinox. Seems like GM would have learned from past mistakes and from Lincoln and the MKX.
It's sad to see Cadillac taking a step back after many years of improvement. I’ll be surprised if this re-badged Mexican made Saturn Vue with a $10k premium will sell well.
This vehicle looks nothing like the Vue or Equinox except that its a 5 passenger crossover and shares the same profile as every similar model. Not only does it offer far more features and power than the Vue, the Vue wont be in production after 2009. This vehicle is an improvement because its smaller, cheaper, lighter and more efficient than the last model. The first SRX got rave reviews but never sold well.
Looks like a VUE with a Caddy front end.
Perhaps you need glasses if you cant tell the difference between the two. The Vue is nothing but soft curves and round shapes. The SRX is nothing but hard edges and angles. They have nothing in common.
I'm going to agree with OS,
I think the SRX looks different enough from the upcoming Vue, and is priced low enough to sell well.
To me this SRX is a step in the right direction for the Cadillac SRX. The price is right. The size and shape is appealing (to me the old looked like a station wagon). It looks to be a competitive piece. I think it sell well and be a great alternative to a BMW, Lexus or Audi.
Sorry! Doesn't look like a Saturn Vue to me either.
Leather isn't standard?
Not sure if it is standard, but here in Houston people try to avoid leather if they can because of the heat and humidity.
I wonder if that 2.8 will be anything like the old ones from the 80s and 90s. If so, I'm staying very very far away from it. I don't see how it looks like a VUE or Equinox, the platforms may be the same but its not as glaringly obvious as the Tahoe/Escalade.
T: Leatherette is standard as it is in the CTS and BMW 3 series. This is pretty standard affair for entry level luxury vehicles.
I think it looks similar to the vue and equinox - not exactly - but they do look similar
All crossovers look similar to some degree. The SRX looks as much like a Vue as it does a Q5 or X3. All crossovers have the same general shape. This vehicle will be built next to the Vue, but its not a Vue. Its a substantially upgraded platform according to GM. The interior only shares parts with the CTS and STS, not the Vue or Equinox. They don't share gauges, steering wheels, shifters or center stack controls.
Equinox? Terrain? Vue? SRX? The rebadging continues. At least the first SRX had it's own personality, even if it was just a Jacked up CTS Station wagon.
GM's Theta platform is used for the Equinox, Vue, Terrain, Torrent models. The 2010 SRX is based on the Theta premium platform so, it's going to look very similar. The 2010 Saab 9-4X also uses the Theta premium platform so that's the model that would be closest to the 2010 SRX.
