Pricing Announced for 2010 Subaru Legacy

10SubaurLegacy The 2010 Subaru Legacy will start with a base MSRP of $19,995, plus an additional $695 destination fee. That MSRP is $800 less than the 2009 Legacy's.

The all-wheel-drive sedan is available in a number of trim levels. The base is called the 2.5i, but another $1,000 will bump you up to the 2.5i Premium, which adds 16-inch alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 10-way power driver’s seat and some other creature comforts.

If you’re looking to go all out, the Legacy can get all the way up to $30,690 for the Limited model, which includes a 265-hp engine and a Harman Kardon audio system.

Not to bad for pricing, but man what a downgrade on styling. Subaru seems to be heading the way of blandness.

I'm looking forward to your tests too.

I'm especially interested in the "weather-wrapped steering wheel" you mention for the 2.5i Premium. I'm wondering if you can order various options for that, such as a Cloudy, Snowy, or Rainy wrap when it's too hot outside, or a Sunny wrap when you want a warm steering wheel on a cold day (hot pad driving gloves for the enthusiast).

Why haven't other manufacturer's thought of this idea? Way to go Subaru!

Test drove one today, a 2.5i Premium with sunroof & CVT, sticker was 24K and some change. Drove very nice and styling was NOT a downgrade, just a little less Subaru-like. Lots of leg room for back seat passengers and plenty of trunk space. I think Subaru has a real winner.
