Buick Announces Pricing for 2010 LaCrosse
Buick announced that the base 2010 LaCrosse luxury sedan will start at $27,085. Other trim levels include the CXL FWD for $29,645, the CXL AWD for $31,820 and the CXS for $33,015. We guessed at a $28,000 starting price when the car debuted in January.
The LaCrosse looks to offer a lot of value at that price. The Acura TSX is one of the few entry-level luxury cars that competes in the price range, starting at $29,160. The new VW CC is another new model that offers similar power and amenities. It starts at $27,100 and is selling well.
The 2010 LaCrosse is scheduled to begin production this summer.

Realistic competition is the Taurus, Avalon, ES and TL. The Lacrosse has a V6 with 54 more standard hp than the TL and its larger. This car is larger than the TL so I doubt its going to be compared with the I-4 TSX.
Where are you getting your infos from about the TL. It have more HP than the LaCrosse and they are both within the class range. Besides, it is made to go against the Lincoln MKS or WSE, and ES350.
I remember when GM had this car as the Invicta Concept. The new 2010 LaCrosse shows alot of promise. I'm not one for the domestics but this car might be the one to turn it around for me. It looks way better than the LExus ES350,and the Acrua TL.
we compare cars on price first. LIKE BUYERS! We go over this every time. TL< ES start well above $30K.
what are we even talking about? With GM bankruptcy looming the Chinese company is about to buy Buick China and everything else is history.
Tony, then why waste your time commenting? If it happens then so be it, but until then stop with the sky is falling routine.
So while the TL may have a much higher starting price, I would say that the Lacrosse CXS compares rather closely to it. All major dimensions are within an inch or two give or take and both have 280hp V6's. Add a few options to the CXS like touring package and navigation and the prices will probably match closely as well. And I can post references if you'd like Dave.
How much is the V8 model?
Lacrosse CXS compares with ES and TL and is about $2k cheaper. That is hardly a major gap. The TSX IS NOT A COMPETITOR. TSX has no V6, is smaller, offers a manual transmission and is geared towards young buyers. No one is going to cross shop a TSX and a Lacrosse. Just because they have similar starting prices doesn't mean they are competitors. YOu might as well say the Edge is a competitor since its base price is close to that of the Lacrosse. Taurus will be a competitor across the model range while FWD imports will compete with the CXL and CXS models.
