Cars.com Reviews the 2010 Chevy Camaro
One of the most anticipated new cars to come out in some time is the 2010 Chevy Camaro. The pony car returns to the Chevy lineup after an eight-year layoff with a completely new design and two powerful engines, including a V-6 that gets 29 mpg on the highway and a V-8 that has 426 hp. Yes, you read that right, the V-8 has 426 hp. Mays doesn’t just sip the Camaro Kool-Aid, though, he details what each trim has to sacrifice in terms of performance for the buying public. Check out the review, then let us know what you think in the comments below.

6.1s to 60? If I remember correctly, the WRX got there before that, right?
Of course, it is a smaller vehicle, but it has four doors and costs around the same. You really can't stop people from cross reference to that.
MMMMMM! Daddy Like! I can't wait to drive this car!
re: manual transmission and v8
sounds just like the GTO. You really have to shift with authority, which is exactly what I like. It just feels like you're pushing some real power(which you are).
And the skip-shift feature is fine as far as I'm concerned. The way GMs 6 speeds are geared, the only time you probably would shift from 1st to 2nd is under hard acceleration anyway. Unless I'm in a hurry (to put it lightly), I NEVER have a desire to go from 1st to 2nd. It's always either 1st to 3rd or 2nd to whatever.
The photo here is great. Did you guys produce it? The reeds, the blue, the road. Very well composed. Ian's lens?
Over 100 HP more than the Mustang and barely a hair quicker?
I am sure one of the mumerous tweaked flavor-of-the-month Mustang special editions could eat its lunch.
I went to the chevy website and i did a build on the camaro2ss and it came to 43,705. On the mustang gt it came to 36,815 and you get more
Skinner:
The Mustang is much lighter. Its been known for some time that the Mustang was almost as fast due to its low curb weight. That said, the Camaro is more efficient and the LS3 will not run out of steam like the Ford 4.6L V8.
C,
The WRX is faster because its 400lbs lighter and has AWD. Its important to compare 1/4 mile times and trap speeds. I guarantee you the Camaro is closing the gap by that time. Cars like the WRX and Sti and EVO have great traction but run out of gas at higher speeds when their lack of hp starts to show. On top of that those cars are less efficient than the Camaro V6 and need premium.
My understanding is that the Camaro with auto has performance algorithm shifting which would mean the car should NOT be gear hunting while cornering. This has been used on Cadillacs and the Vetter in the past. I did not see any mention of that in the article.
At least there were some obligatory insults about the Cobalt and G6. What GM review would be complete without mentioning the Cobalt? A car that starts at $14k and debuted in 2004 is likely to have a worse interior than the 2010 Camaro. At least that's my thinking. Same applies to the G6 (which did get an updated interior BTW) but somehow I'm sure people needed to be reminded how much cars.com doesnt like either vehicle. What's interesting is that the G6 actually has more soft touch dash materials inside than the Camaro.
