Cars.com Reviews the 2009 GMC Canyon

09GMCcanyon As Cars.com’s Mike Hanley points out, the 2009 GMC Canyon falls into a somewhat peculiar category when it comes with its lowered sport suspension: A pickup truck for the muscle-car crowd. After driving the lowered V-8 Canyon, though, he can see why enthusiasts of the long-deceased El Camino might flock to this Canyon, which could be considered that vehicle’s “spiritual ancestor.” To find out how the Canyon delivers beyond this, read Hanley’s full review.

George

That seems like GM's answer when they don't want to bother to do any engineering work, throw a V8 into it.

The inline four and five cylinder engines don't have much mid-range torque, but they are also lacking variable intake valve timing. (pssst, install it)
and what about a 6 speed automatic.

C

But why didn't they make this a Chevy instead of a GMC?

ermatthe

chevy does have the same package available on the Colorado

d

they do "c"! It's called a Colorado!!

C

Well, where is the manual tranny then?

cody

i agree...six speed auto or five speed manual please. four speed auto + $30K pricetag = ridiculous.

also, please update the interior. how much could it possibly cost? that dash and those door panels are very, very sad.

cody

the v8 is probably cheaper to produce than the 5-cylinder...

The bug sheilds and tailgates of the canyon are too cool

2009 GMC Canyon is offered in different cab styles, suspension and these factors helped the vehcile to become more practical and versatile.
