I can't wait until my local dealer gets their hands on a few. They're usually pretty cool about letting people test drive when they know they aren't going to buy.
Tim,
You may not have any new ones in your area yet. What's your zip? The link worked for me but gave me "no" results for a west coast zip. Not used (which might be sold out there as well).
There are now 539 in our inventory, you'll get that many BMW 3 series just in Chicago most days.
I saw an ad in Daily Herald (Chicago area) newspaper with a dealer advertising that Insight is ready for sale. Surely someone should be selling in California area.
Yes, this model is already a Hit in Japan and we can expect the same in USA. I would like to see this model overtaking Prius in Sales either this month or next month. That will give a good competition.
Already Toyota has taken this seriously by announcing that they will sell both Prius-II and Prius-III to ensure that Prius stays in lead which it has held since June-2000.
I think Toyota was more serious about getting a Yaris hybrid done.
DodgeFan,
Even if Toyota started that today it'll be 2012 before you see one most likely. Honda is working on a Fit hybrid now as well.
Game over in the competition between the Insight and Prius, and it looks like the public knows which one offers real value. Toyota has announced it has 75,000 orders for the 2010 Prius, before a single one has hit the showroom floor. Early reports of Journalists getting mpg in the 70s and above says a lot, while the Insight makes do with poorer mileage than the Civic Hybrid already gets. Because the Insight looks like the Prius, Honda will sell a good number of them. But as far as performance, ride, noise and overall quality, it's really no competition. The Prius is well worth the couple thousand extra you pay up front.
