Volkswagen's New Beetle Blush Edition

2009vw_beetleblush The New Beetle has been on the market without a major redesign for 12 years. In automotive terms, that means it’s chugging Ensure and nailing the triple-word bonuses in Scrabble. One way to keep up interest, of course, is to cart out special editions, like Chrysler has done with the nearly fossilized PT Cruiser more times than we can remember. (Next up: The Bob Corker Edition, with no-charge leather seats for all you Tennessee voters.) VW’s latest is the Blush Edition, a version of the Beetle convertible. It goes on sale this spring for $26,990, excluding VW’s $700 destination charge. That’s just $1,000 over the regular Beetle droptop.

Changes include unique White Gold paint, a red convertible top and a red leather interior. It’s real cowhide, too, not the vinyl leatherette VW uses in the regular Beetle. Unique 17-inch wheels complete the package, which includes the Beetle convertible’s other standard features — among them an electronic stability system, a 2.5-liter engine and a six-speed automatic. Volkswagen says a limited number of Blush editions will be produced.

Blush edition?
Whoever buys it should be blushed?

Jake

Cheeks turn red when blushing. Red convertible top, red leather.

VW, if you're gonna keep it, REDESIGN it. Same exterior, same interior for at least a decade...no wonder I don't see many on the road anymore.
