iPhone Saves Man From Fine

IPhone You know those people who claim they wouldn’t want to have access to the internet all the time? Well, I do, which is why I will now bring up the story of the guy who saved himself $200 with his iPhone.

A reader at the Unofficial Apple Weblog claims that when he had to show proof of insurance after a fender-bender, he whipped out his iPhone and nabbed a PDF copy of his insurance card from Geico’s website. This saved the quick-thinking Midwestern iPhone owner a $200 fine for having an expired insurance card in his glove box.

It’s hard to say that this will work all the time, but, needless to say, it gives the iPhone faithful another reason to salivate.

Where I live, it's a fix-it ticket. If you produce proof that you had valid insurance on the date of the citation, it's like you never got the ticket.

Any blackberry should do too, right?
