New Bluetooth Speaker Attaches to Steering Wheel
For those of you intent on hanging on to your Bluetooth-less car for a while longer, yet who want to use that hands-free technology, we may have a solution that’s not attached to your sun visor.
The Steering Wheel Bluetooth Adapter attaches to the inside of the steering wheel and can be adjusted for different sizes and fits. The gadget includes a microphone and speakers, an LCD display, an SD port for MP3s, a USB port and an FM-out to play everything through your car’s stereo.
The adapter still needs a power source, which is why it hooks up to the cigarette lighter by wire. As Gizmodo points out, this seems cumbersome and perhaps dangerous to have a wire leading from the steering wheel to the dash. It works from a rechargeable battery, but when would you recharge it except for when you’re driving?
KickingTires seconds the sentiment: How does this work in the real world? Our best guess is that you charge it at home and take it with you in the morning. Hope a single charge lasts a long time.
