Recall Alert: 2009 Jaguar XF

2009xf

Jaguar has issued a recall for 3,754 2009 XF sedans due to a malfunctioning speaker, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Association. In these models, the speaker wires could fracture, causing the speaker to stop working.

This will not only affect audio entertainment, but also audible reminders that sound when the driver or passenger isn’t wearing a seat belt, when the headlights are left on and if the driver's door is open with the key still in the ignition, just to name a few.

Dealers will inspect the instrument cluster speaker function and fix the problem, if necessary. Owners can contact Jaguar at 800-452-4827 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236.

does this include the Supercharged? i own an imaginary black XF Supercharged. hope this isn't a sign of the return of the relatively poor reliability that used to plague them! otherwise a sweet package ,,,

DL,
The recall does not mention a trim level. I'd call Jaguar with your imaginary VIN handy.

As for a return of the old Jaguar, its funny how much it improved under Ford isn't it?

You're joking right? What happened to just paying attention to where your keys are and whether or not your headlights are on. Not to mention common sense to wear your seatbelt. That sould probably be a "technical service bulletin", not a recall.

i actually am eying the XF as a possible purchase in a couple of years. figured by then the new-model bugs would've been mostly worked out, or at least good reliability records have accumulated.

i've read quite a lot about how Jag improved since coming under Ford ownership. wonder what would happen in a couple of years, now that the car companies are selling off its parts and bits ...
