Mini E Electric Car Arrives in NYC
The fanatical Mini groupies at MotoringFile have confirmed that the first Mini Es have arrived from Europe for distribution in the U.S. We haven’t heard any confirmations of Mini contacting anyone on the waiting list to lease one for $850 a month, but with the cars officially here, we think these announcements will be forthcoming.
You can check out our first drive of the Mini E in a video below.

It is very exciting, the innovation and new designs that we are seeing in the EV space right now. And there are more EVs that will be hitting the roads soon what with every major auto manufacturer announcing EV plans
Someone called "Marcus Williamson" came by the Yahoogroup "Prius Technical Stuff" in Nov. 20 asking "THE MINI E FIELD TRIAL: APPLY TO BE A PART OF MOTORING HISTORY."
There were a lot of restrictions and applications closed on Dec. 10th. I don't know of anyone who was impressed with the offer:
$850/month
12 months
$10,000 to be part of test?
No one seemed terribly interested. They must have us confused with some wide-eyed, incredibly wealthy, and not too bright people.
Nonsense, utter nonsense.
I posted back that if they want to sell the mini-E and offer a guaranteed buy-back price, no problem. But I'll either buy it and turn it back when I'm done or they can go find where GM crushed the EV-1s. No one wants to go through another EV crushing exercise.
