Ford Increases Availability of Rearview Camera

Rearsensingcamera

Ford announced it will double the number of vehicles that get its rearview camera system for 2009. This means nearly three-quarters of Ford vehicles will come with the bumper-level camera and display.

Ford's rearview camera system is distinct in that the image appears in the rearview mirror rather than on a screen in the center console. In fact, the rearview camera can be purchased without a more expensive navigation system.

As an option, the camera runs $695 and is becoming more popular. Ford is seeing more buyers include it in their top-selling 2009 F-150, as compared to the 2008 model.
