Cars.com Wagon Faceoff: Audi A4, Saab 9-3, Volvo XC70

Wagonfaceoff

Wagons have had a tough time in the U.S. While hugely popular in Europe, the wagon has simply failed to catch on here. Despite that, there are interesting models in the segment that are chock full of features and style.

Three such models are the 2009 Audi A4 Avant Quattro 2.0T, the 2008 Saab 9-3 SportCombi TurboX and the 2009 Volvo XC70 T6. Cars.com’s reviewers tested the models and compared all three in our latest Cars.comparison. Find out who took the cake among three perhaps-overlooked models.

I have never understood why the American public shuns wagons. Maybe it is because I did not grow up in the wagon crazed days. As a 25 year old I think wagons are much better looking and more useful than an SUV or a minivan. My next purchase is a wagon with AWD

Dang. Looking back at interiors from previous years' Saabs, they haven't really changed their interior style since the mid-90s. That's kinda sad.

Where is the Outback 2.5XT?

nkeith

thats were youre wrong adam, no car is more useful than a minivan

DL

i have to agree with nkeith about the minivan. otherwise wagons in general carry 5 people like most SUV's sold these days, yet wagons won't flip over and spit you out so easily like SUV's.

DL

i'm not sure the Outback is quite on par with the above 3, esp the "luxury and refinement" department
